St Basil’s Family Fun Day - 21 Jan, 4-7pm

On behalf of St Basil’s Aged Care Services Fr Emmanuel would like you to know of the upcoming St Basil’s Family Fun Day to be held at St Nektarios Church.

This is an annual event held by St Basil’s but has been scheduled later in January this year to offer families the opportunity to attend.

Are you interested in volunteering to offer friendship to our elderly community who are experiencing loneliness?

St. Basil’s is aware that many elderly people lose contact with family and friends over the years resulting in isolation, loneliness and boredom. Our volunteer service helps to match Volunteers like yourself with Home Care Clients or Care Facility Residents to help overcome these issues

We are looking for Volunteers who are willing to sacrifice some of their time to help by volunteering in the Northern & Eastern suburbs.

We are able to provide you with some training and can also reimburse your fuel costs for visits as a volunteer.

St Basils Aged Care Services is pleased to announce the opening of their Day Centre.
The new Day Centre opened and welcomed its first clients on Tuesday 18th July 2017.
St Basils was successful in their application of securing Government funding under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme for Centre Based Care and In-Home Respite.
Both programmes offer relief to family members and caregivers, allowing them to work, handle personal business or just relax, knowing their loved ones are being cared for and safe.

The Day Centre aims to be a friendly and welcoming place, where you can socialise, make friends and really enjoy your days with great activities, music, movies, crafts and outings.
The In Home Respite offers the opportunity for the carer to spend the allocated time relaxing or attending to personal business while the support worker can attend to looking after their loved ones.
St Basils philosophy is based on the values of family, relationship, community & culture, specialising in caring for people from different cultures. All cultures are welcomed.

Accessing the services is as simple as calling Esmeralda – Manager Community Services on 9201 9655

St Basil's Aged Care Services is a Not For Profit aged care provider that is CALD specific (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse).
The primary aim of St Basil's Aged Care Services is to provide the welfare and assistance of the elderly and their families in the home, with a focus and understanding of the Greek culture and traditions thus enabling them to stay in their homes, avoiding early entry into Residential Aged Care Facilities.

St Basil's also runs a Government funded Volunteer Programme the CVS – Community Visitor's Scheme.
The CVS relies on the assistance of volunteers who are happy to give of their time in visiting our elderly (usually isolated) Greek people in their homes or in Aged Care Facilities.
It truly is a wonderful way to be of service to the community. All out of pocket expenses such as travel costs etc are reimbursed through the scheme.
