That's right, it's us again! It's been a couple of weeks since you've seen us but here we are, renewed, and ready to go. We hope everyone had an enjoyable break. The last time that we saw each other was during the visit of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society of Sydney. We picked up some tips, compared notes, and learnt about our faith.
So, I bet you're wondering what we've been up to during this short break. We've been planning, we've been re-evaluating, and we've been thinking about where we'd like to see this group go. Our focus for the group has always been on bringing young people into the Church and to the realisation of Truth that is God. This is the core purpose of the group. Where we'd like to see this group go is, with the expansion and implementation of branching groups; one for children, one for young adults, and one for adults themselves. We'd like to see our youth become young leaders, taking ownership of different roles within the Church. Obviously, there is still a lot of work to be done before we can reach these goals, however, it is good to keep them in mind when planning for the future.
This brings us to the main question of, what do we have planned for the upcoming term? Well, we've decided to mix things up a bit. This term, we won't be releasing a program of set events. Instead, we'll be meeting as usual each Friday evening in the Church for a talk by Father Emmanuel, after which we'll move down into the hall for coffee and conversation. The idea is that we keep the second part of the evening fairly relaxed, so that if there's anything specific that people want to do, we can do it.
Important: Due to recent developments, the youth evenings will officially recommence next week, the 31st of July, at 6:30pm. We look forward to seeing everyone then.
