Hello everyone :)
This year, we have had a blast! Sadly, though, we're cutting the term, and year, short. With Christmas fast approaching, we've decided to focus all of our efforts on one big event. This event will be held some time later this year and will be a chance for the group to get together for one last time to celebrate the great year we've had together. The sky's the limit!
This year, we put our efforts into gathering ideas, testing programs, and finding out from you, the youth, what you most want to get out of our activities. Just like a stepping stone, this year has brought us closer to our long-term goals. By cutting the year short, we hope to have more time to plan and develop a strategy for reaching these goals. We've already come up with several ideas and now we're trying to bring them all together.
We began the year with a fresh outlook and fresh ideas. It was quickly evident that the interactive talks by Father Emmanuel were most loved. By popular demand, they became the basis for our evenings. They provided an opportunity for us to learn, grow, and become closer to God.
After our talks, we would get together for some snacks and a fun-filled activity. Our most memorable experiences together were the bread making and pizza making nights that we had.
Last Friday, which was our last evening for the term, was the eve of the Beheading of the Forerunner. As was fitting, we decided to have a Vespers service instead, remembering this great Saint.
"The memory of the just is celebrated with hymns of praise, but the Lord's testimony is sufficient for you, O Forerunner; for you have proved to be truly even more venerable than the Prophets, since you were granted to baptize in the running waters Him Whom they proclaimed. Wherefore, having contested for the truth, you rejoiced to announce the good tidings even to those in Hades: that God has appeared in the flesh, taking away the sin of the world and granting us great mercy."

So, while we may be going for now, keep watch because we'll be back! A huge thank you for everyone's support this year and we hope to see you again later this year.
