A one-day seminar organised by St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College and hosted by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese – Diocese of Perth is taking place on Saturday 29 November 2025 to celebrate the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea (325 AD).
“We believe…” — but do we know what we believe? The Nicene Creed is not just a text we recite on Sundays—it is a bold proclamation of truth that shaped the Church and changed the course of history. It is the heartbeat of Orthodox faith, a declaration forged in the fires of controversy and conviction, affirming what the Church has always believed about Christ, salvation, and our eternal destiny.
During this seminar you will:
- Trace the powerful story if how the Creed emerged in a time of crisis and defended the boundaries of Christian truth
- Discover how its words are deeply rooted in Scripture
- Explore how the Creed still speak into our lives today shaping how we live, love believe and follow Christ
