“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”
Master who loves us, shine Your eternal light in our hearts that we may better know you. Help us to fully understand Your gospel message. Instill in us respect for Your holy commandments, that by overcoming our worldly desires we might live a spiritual life of thoughts and deeds which pleases You. We ask this of You, O Christ our god, for You are the light of our souls and bodies and You we glorify with Your eternal Father and Your all-holy good and life-giving Spirit now and forever. Amen.
Shine within my heart, loving Master, the pure light of Your divine knowledge, and open the eyes of my mind that I may understand Your teachings. Instill in me also reverence for Your blessed commandments, so that having conquered sinful desires I may pursue a spiritual way of life, thinking and doing all those things that are pleasing to You. For You, Christ my God, are my light, and to You I give glory together with Your Father and Your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
God of truth and love, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our prayer for those who do not know You, that they may come to a saving knowledge of the truth and that Your Name may be praised among all peoples of the world. Sustain, inspire, and enlighten Your servants who bring them the Gospel. Bring fresh vigor to wavering faith; sustain our faith when it is still fragile. Continually renew missionary zeal in us and in the Church, and raise up new missionaries who will follow You to the ends of the world. Make us witnesses to your goodness, full of love, strength, and faith for Your glory and the salvation of the entire world. Through the prayers of St. Paul, St. Fotini, Sts. Cyril and Methodios, Kosmas, Innocent, Nicholas of Japan and all the missionary saints, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
By Saint Paisios
This prayer of his was given to a convent which had asked the Elder for a prayer rule that could be used by the nuns in their evening vigils. This directive was given to the nuns during the final years of his life.

Preaching the Word - From Us to You
Bible Study Classes
Are you a young person who is interested in learning more about the Orthodox Faith? Well, we can help!
Father Emmanuel currently runs two Bible Study classes; Mondays and Thursdays.
The Monday day classes are aimed towards parents or anyone from the general public.
The Thursday night classes are aimed towards the youth of today. These classes started back in February 2017 and are comprised of a close group of young adults with a thirst for the Truth that is, the Word of God. In fact, due to the success and growing interest for these classes, from Nov 1 2018, they are now available as Podcasts for listening to, any time of the day.
For expressions of interest in either of these two classes, please reach out to us and we’ll be sure to find something that tailors to your needs.
Adult Catechism Classes
The Orthodox Church has certain teachings and traditions regarding the nature of God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Church, as well as what it means to be a true Christian.
Adult Catechism classes, or Religious Instruction classes, are run by Father Emmanuel and usually serve the following purposes:
- Prepare people before becoming Orthodox Christians in order to be accepted into the faith, and
- Offer continuous instruction to people on matters of the practice of their Orthodox Christian faith and to provide ongoing fellowship
We welcome all people, whether Orthodox or not, to learn more about the Orthodox faith and practise. If you’d like to learn more or book in a time for the classes, please send us an email, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
The Evangelismos Sunday School aims to provide an opportunity for children to learn more about the Orthodox Faith. There are a range of activities to suit children of all ages (as long as the children sit still and listen, we are happy to engage them).
The Sunday school runs during the usual school terms and meets at the back of the church during the time of Holy Communion, and concludes at the end of the service. Children are collected from the school adjacent to the church. We have a roster of teachers who take the lessons each school term.
We highly encourage you to bring your children along!
We believe that Faith does not just start and end with Church but should be wholly part of the individual. When a person leaves Church, they should continue to walk with Christ. Therefore, we aim to provide resources to help each and every individual on their own Faith journey.
