New CGL Examination Dates for 2020

The Centre for the Greek Language (CGL) in Thessaloniki, Greece, has announced the new dates for this year’s CGL Examinations, which were postponed from May as a result of COVID-19. The Examinations will take place in October and will be spread over 4 days to allow for social distancing in the examination rooms.

A1 (8-12 year olds) Tuesday 13 October 2020
A1 (adolescents & adults) Tuesday 13 October 2020
C2 Tuesday 13 October 2020
A2 Wednesday 14 October 2020
C1 Wednesday 14 October 2020
B1 Thursday 15 October 2020
B2 Friday 16 October 2020

The CGL Examinations will take place at St. Andrew’s Grammar, with details to be provided closer to the date.

Registration

Candidates who have already registered and paid for these examinations are in the system; however, a new window for other candidates has been offered. Interested candidates can now apply from 1 June to 28 June, 2020, by completing the attached forms and providing photographic ID.

Fees have been set by Greece and are as follows:

  • $130 for Levels A1(for children 8-12 years), A1 (adolescents & adults), A2 and B1
  • $150 for levels B2, C1 and C2

Forms

Please read the Terms and Conditions of the Application 2020 document and sign and date the relevant page; then complete in full the application form that follows, and the relevant Questionnaire document. The Examination Centre’s number is 61002, already included on the form. You do not supply your own code; the CGL does that. Once completed, you can post the forms to:

Your completed forms (signed and dated Terms and Conditions, Application form, and relevant Questionnaire), as well as your fee payment, must be received by Sunday 28 June, 2020. Please include photo ID; i.e., Student ID, Passport, Driver’s License, etc. Scanned documents are acceptable. If you are a previous candidate of the CGL, your ID forms are already in the system.
