Announcement – Visit of Archbishop Makarios to Perth for the Feast Day of Saint Paisios the Athonite

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, with great joy, announces the first visit of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to Perth for the Feast Day of Saint Paisios the Athonite.

The Programme is as follows:

Thursday 11 July

  • Arrival of His Eminence at the Perth Domestic Airport (Qantas Flight 577) at 3.25pm.
  • Official Arrival Service for His Eminence at the Holy Monastery of St John of the Mountain in Forrestfield at 4.00pm.
  • Vespers Service for the feast day of St Paisios at 6.30pm presided by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios at the Holy Monastery of St John of the Mountain.
    A light supper will follow in the monastery refectory for all the faithful.

Friday 12 July

  • Matins Service and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy for the feast day of St Paisios presided by His Eminence at the Holy Monastery of St John of the Mountain commencing at 8.00am.
    A brunch will follow in the monastery refectory for all the faithful.

Please note that Buses will be departing from the Church of Saint Nekatrios, Evangelismos and Saints Constantine & Helene at 8am and arriving at the monastery at approximately 8.45am. To book a seat on the bus please contact your parish priest.

At all services the Saint John of Damascus Byzantine Choir from Adelaide will be chanting.
