This year, we were most blessed to have our new Archbishop, Makarios, of Australia join us for the feast day of St Paisios the Athonite, in the newly built chapel dedicated to the Saint, at the Holy Monastery of St John. Joining us too, were the Saint John of Damascus Byzantine Choir from Adelaide, who chanted at all the services.
It was truly a historical event!
Upon his arrival, Archbishop Makarios was greeted by a great multitude of faithful at the airport, and shortly after, again at the Holy Monastery. A small service was conducted, we received His Eminence’s blessed words, and followed with light refreshments.
In the evening, again more people poured in for the Vespers service, a special service that stirred the hearts of those present. Ending with an evening meal, people then came up to receive a blessing from our Archbishop before heading home.
O great Saint of God, pray for us.
